- Well - seeing as I work in "Sun Country", it was my understanding that Sun wanted to
- acquire Apple to increase their production capability. They need more facilities to produce product
- at. Also, they were interested in the applications that can be found on the Apple. Sure, they ship
- Solaris (a nice UNIX variant) - but one problem perrenial to UNIX is a lack of "end user
- applications". You know, like MS- Word, Excel, etc.

- Additionally, Sun seems to be gearing toward an entry into the emergent Set-top box for
- the Internet Market. Their move to 3rd move in 3 months to acquire Apple could have something to
- do with this potential market...

- I don't actually work for Sun, however my corporation is the "odd building out" in the
- industrial park - all the rest are Sun Microsystems. So, that sort of stuff is pretty big news around
- here. They are interested in scrapping the Macintosh line. EOF
